Not far from Taormina, in the heart of the Valle d'Agro, 700 meters above sea level rises the hilltop village of Roccafiorita, a true gem of culture and history far from the beaten track and still unknown to mass tourism. Inside the small village, there are small B&B managed by the locals, plus it is possible to make wine tastings of the exclusive "Principe di Rocca Fiorita" wine and local products from organic crops grown in the Agrò valley. Roccafiorita is surmounted by Mount Kalfa with a beautiful viewpoint a thousand meters above sea level, along our trek we will stop here to admire the breathtaking view of the Mediterranean Sea and the mountain ranges that surround this pristine corner of eastern Sicily. This tour is ideal for those who like to get away from mass tourism routes and want to experience authentic Sicily. The route is designed for families. Trekking has a low difficulty level.

Escursion Details

The start of this eight kilometers trekking starts in the Alcantara Valley, at an altitude of 700 meters above sea level, from here we will follow a country path that will take us in two hours directly into Agrò Valley passing first from Mount Calfa before moving to the pretty village of Roccafiorita inhabited by only 198 people. At Rocca Fiorita, we will stop for a wine and foods tasting.
