Along the day we will discover the slopes of the volcano, and enjoy some of the finest Sicilian wines paired with some excellent dishes. After a light walk to admire some craters and a visit to some iconic landscapes of Mount Etna, We will be heading to a winery driving along the beautiful Etna vineyards dotting the flank of the volcano. In the afternoon, your will take you back to your hotel driving through the beautiful Alcantara valley.

Escursion Details

Our Mount Etna wine tasting departs from Taormina at 9 a.m.; a guide will pick you up at your hotel. On the way to Mount Etna, we pass through some mountain villages before stopping for a coffee break on a beautiful mountain chalet on Etna's north flank. Before going for a one-kilometer walk, we will drive by the massive eruption of 2002, where we stop to take some pictures. The light trekking will last around one hour, and we will reach a series of craters from where you will enjoy a beatiful view on the mediterranean and the Etna landscape. Our excursion now heads toward a famous winery where you will enjoy some of Etna best wines paired with local food delicacies. For those who wish to understand the art of winemaking, a visit to the wine cellars is available at no additional cost. The return to your hotel is scheduled around four p.m.
