This Etna quad excursion is the ultimate and unmissable adventure for outdoor life and engine lovers. We will take you to discover the Alcantara Valley and Mount Etna with a five-hour quad tour. Following exciting off-road trails and stretches of secondary paved road, we will pass through mountain villages like Castiglione di Sicilia and Francavilla before reaching the lush woodlands of Etna. Our experienced guides will lead you through suggestive lava deserts before reaching the 2000 meters mark on the site of the most destructive eruption of the last one hundred years that took place in 2002. Our Etna quad adventures are available all year round, with two daily departures even with snow. No advance payment is required.

Escursion Details

The departure of this quad tour of Etna takes place in Francavilla di Sicilia, 300 meters above sea level. After a briefing on how to drive a quad bike and assess your driving skills, the tour will move towards the picturesque village of Castiglione di Sicilia following an exciting off-road route. From Castiglione, following a mixture of dirt roads and asphalted secondary roads, we will reach the woods of Etna at 1500 meters above sea level, here we will stop to take some photos and see a small cave. The Etna quad adventure tour reaches 2000 meters in Piano Provenzano. Here there will be time to admire the great lava flow of 2002, with a breathtaking view of one of the active summit craters of Etna. You will have time for a coffee and use the bathroom. On the way back to the starting point, the tour will pass through Castiglione di Sicilia for the second time and will stop at a viewpoint overlooking the Alcantara River.

How shall I dress?

We recommend long trousers, closed shoes, jacket, backpack and sunglasses to prevent dust from irritating your eyes. If the day could be rainy we will provide you with a rain jacket.
