Castello degli Schiavi – The Corleone Residence

The experience begins at Castello degli Schiavi, the private estate that served as Michael Corleone’s Sicilian residence throughout the trilogy.
It was here that one of the most dramatic moments of The Godfather Part I was filmed — the explosion scene involving Apollonia in the courtyard.

During the visit, you will walk through the courtyard and selected interior areas connected to the production. The property remains privately owned and is not freely accessible to the public. Estate access is fully included in this Godfather Tour from the Taormina area.

There will be time for photographs inside one of the most recognizable filming locations in Sicily.

Forza d’Agrò – The Village That Became Corleone

Forza d’Agrò was selected to represent Corleone in The Godfather Part II for its preserved medieval structure and authentic Sicilian setting.

Perched on a hillside overlooking the Ionian coast, the village retains the architectural character that Coppola sought to evoke rural Sicily in the early 20th century. Its stone streets, historic church square and panoramic viewpoints provided the backdrop for several sequences in Part II and later in Part III.

Walking through Forza d’Agrò today means stepping into one of the most recognizable filming locations of the trilogy, where the visual identity of Corleone was shaped through landscape and atmosphere rather than studio reconstruction.

A guided exploration of the historic center allows time for photographs and a deeper understanding of why this village became a central cinematic setting within the Godfather story.

Savoca – Bar Vitelli and the Wedding Scene

The experience then proceeds to Savoca, one of the most iconic stops of any Godfather Tour Sicily itinerary.

Here you will visit the Church of San Nicolò, often called Santa Lucia, where Michael Corleone’s wedding procession took place in The Godfather Part I. The transfer to the church is made aboard a traditional Moto Ape Calessino, included in the tour price.

In the historic center, you will stop at Bar Vitelli — the terrace where Michael first met Apollonia’s father to ask for her hand in marriage. The bar still preserves photographs and memorabilia linked to the film.

Savoca remains one of the most atmospheric filming locations of the trilogy, and walking through its narrow streets offers a direct connection between cinema and authentic Sicilian village life.

Return to the Taormina Area

After the Savoca visit, the return transfer concludes the six-hour itinerary.
