Discover Etna's snowy landscape

Visiting Mount Etna in winter will make you discover an unexpected and suggestive landscape; made of snowy forests, beautiful craters, and breathtaking landscapes. This Guided Etna winter walking tour on the north side of the volcano includes a two-hour hike, the climb to the summit of a series of craters, and a cave visit. Before starting our hike, there will be time to stop on a mountain chalet and enjoy a cup of coffee, to provide you with trekking boots and, if necessary, snowshoes. The tour price includes transport, an English-speaking guide, boots, walking shoes, and walking poles. The itinerary of this Etna winter HIke is identical to the Etna Half Day Tour. We offer pick-up service from Taormina, Giardini Naxos, and surrounding towns. If you are in Catania, you can reach the pick-up point by car, train, or bus. Escursion Details

A guide will pick you up at your hotel around 9 a.m. Driving along a scenic road in one hour, we will reach a Mountain chalet on the north side of Mount Etna. We stop to use the toilet, change into trekking boots and relax for a coffee. Our four kilometers hike will last two hours. We will cross a woodland and reach the summit of a series of craters with an amazing view of the Mediterranean sea. Before lunch, equiped with a spot light and an helmet we will visit one of the most fascinating cave of Mt. Etna. The guide will explain the geology and history and tell you what this cave was used for. The difficulty level of this hiking tour is low and accessible even to kids, as long as they are used to physical activity and outdoor life. The Excursion will finish around three p.m.

Lunch break

Around one p.m., we will head back to the mountain chalet, where we stopped earlier. Here the guests can choose between two menus. One that costs €7 includes a sandwich, bruschetta, and a drink, a second menù that costs €10 includes bruschetta, pasta, and a drink of your choice. Those who suffer from food intolerances or allergies should let us know in the morning in order to offer an alternative menu.
