This article will help anyone looking for info about Beaches in and around Taormina. Most importantly, I won't make every damn beach look like a piece of heaven, but I'll be honest and tell you, if that's the case, the downside of every beach in the area.
About Taormina
Taormina is located on a rocky hill on the northeastern coast of Sicily, so the town of Taormina has no beaches. This pretty tourist village undoubtedly has Sicily's oldest and most efficient tourism industry, offering a wide range of accommodation, ranging from budget B & Bs to five-star hotels. The center of Taormina is well connected to the most famous beaches by bus service and cable car. The most visited beach in Taormina is Isola Bella. Still, I will tell you some tips on reaching other beaches that will not disappoint you.
Beaches in Taormina
1 Isola Bella di Taormina

This is the most coveted and visited beach in Taormina. For a reason, the landscape as the sea is enchanting. Along this stretch of beach, there are three beach clubs (Lido) two restaurants. Boat tours to visit the Taormina coastline depart every hour. Kayaking, Snorkeling, and scuba diving are also available. The house/museum of Isola Bella can be seen every day in summer (ticket €5). Even with high tide, you can walk over the tiny pebbly strip that separates the beach from the "island,". Even though Isola Bella is a protected marine reserve in July, August, and September, the uncontrolled massive number of people who choose this Taormina beach can be annoying, especially if you are not a crowd lover.

2 Mazzarò Bay

Mazzaro bay enclosed all the atmosphere and the idyllic landscape of the mediterranean sea. Along the pebble shore of this bay, there are two five-star hotels and 3 beach clubs. La Caravella and the Lido la Pigna offer umbrellas and sun chairs. They have two restaurants with a beautiful view of the bay. The boats departing from the north side of the bay can be a little annoying. As for Isola Bella, to get to this bay, you need to walk down a set of steps. The boat tour departing from this bay are more expensive while the tour is shorter.

3 The mermaid bay (Baia Delle Sirene)

This stretch of Taormina's shore is less busy, the bay is stunning, and the water crystal clear. To access the mermaids bay, look for a ladder by the Atlantis bay hotel (The one with a very flamboyant dome). There is just a free beach and no bars or restaurants here, but the place is fantastic. If you bring a snorkeling kit, you can enjoy the sea bottom.

4 Spisone Beach

This stretch of beach is beside the mermaid's bay, which is a few kilometers long. Along Spisone beach, there are several beach clubs serving food. The landscape is not as lovely as Isola Bella, but on the other hand, Spisone is quiet and a beach worth to be visited.

Beaches around Taormina Giardini Naxos
Giardini Naxos is a small town four kilometers away from Taormina with lovely sandy beaches and some less known bays with a beautiful view of Mount Etna. Beach club's average price is less than in Taormina, and there are stretches of free beaches.
Beach by the train station

Suppose you are looking for tranquility, a crystal clear sea, and a typically Mediterranean landscape. In that case, this long beach made of pebbles at the end of Giardini Naxos on the north side towards Taormina is the place for you. This beach can be reached from the road near "the Antonian Orphanage," but parking spaces are scarce. Suppose you pass the Giardini Naxos train station, after two hundred meters on the left is the "Villagonia" district. In that case, you can leave your car in one of the two car parks. Even if the parking lots are neglected, the area is safe. The beach is located on the other side of the state road; walk through the underpass to access the beach. Those who wish can choose the Porto Rico beach club, or alternatively, you can take advantage of the free beach. Piazza Municipio Beach

This is a short stretch of coastline between the church of San Giovanni (the ugly pointed one that looks like an upside-down artichoke) and the Town Hall Square of Giardini Naxos. This part of Giardini Naxos offers small beaches, never super crowded, and frequented by locals. The sea is crystal clear, and the presence of rocks makes it one of the ideal places for Snorkeling. In this area, there are no lidos. Look for Roberto's, a restaurant with a panoramic terrace that serves delicious fish dishes at lunchtime. From this beach depart kayaking trips to Taormina Isola Bella.

San Giovanni and San Prancrazio beach

This beach near Taormina is separated from Piazza Municipio beach by a stretch of rocks of about one hundred meters. San Giovanni takes its name from the pointed church. The first access is at the "Esso" gasoline station or from a concrete ramp almost in front of the Makla bar. The last access is near the square of San Pancrazio. The stretch of beach that goes from San Giovanni to San Pancrazio is made of fine golden sand, while the seabed is shallow and ideal for swimming. There are a number restaurants.

La Spiaggia di Schisò

This is the most coveted beach in Giardini Naxos because it is made of fine sand and is quite broad. Most of the beach is occupied by beach clubs; only on the south side, there is a small strip of free beach where there are old boats or under the church of San Pancrazio on the north side. This beach is super crowded at the peak of the summer season and during the weekend.

Pirata Beach

In reality, this beach has various names; perhaps there is no real one used by all the inhabitants of Giardini Naxos. This small volcanic bay is enchanting, the sea is crystal clear, and you can choose whether to use the free beach or one of the two Lidos. This Giardini Naxos beach can only be reached on foot, which is never super crowded. Take the Carabinieri station a little further on the opposite side as a reference point, you will see a path made of volcanic rocks. Once you reach the sea, turn left and pass the two beaches. Below you will find a link to the map with the entrance point to the beach. The lido il Pirata is one of the best in Giardini Naxos. The pasta with sea urchins is delicious.

This beach is wide but is located outside Giardini Naxos's gulf and is not protected by a bay. The water is deep. The beach is made up of a mixture of gravel and sand; the view of Mount Etna is phenomenal. If you are looking for a beach where you can relax, drink well and eat fresh food, I recommend the "Stella Marina" beach, two deckchairs and an umbrella cost only € 10.

Letojianni Beach
This stretch of beach is located on the north side of Taormina in the town of Letojianni which is only five kilometers from Taormina. This beach is similar to that of Recanati, made of fine gravel mixed with sand. Here, too, the seabed immediately becomes deep. Along the beach of Letojianni there are a series of lidos, but there are also large stretches of free beach, especially on the north side of the bay. restaurants and bar are aboundants.
